Challenge: [176] Very Important Person
Title: Self-Importance
Word Count: 273
Author's Notes: Just something short and silly I wanted to write while I'm working on some darkfic.
Xigbar resisted the urge to just open fire and end this - he knew the mission was going to be frustrating, but come on. This was just too much. He didn't mean to run into this... whoever it was... upon entering the palace, but it was stalling a mission that he was beginning to wish he'd shoved on Demyx when he had the chance.
He raised his hands, hoping that didn't mean 'piss off' in this World's culture. "No offense, guy, but I don't know even know who you are. And anyway, you're not who I came here to see..."
The man scoffed, turned up his nose for what seemed like the umpteenth time.
Xigbar grimaced, his one eye squinting. Turn that thing up any higher and I'm going to see snot...
"Ridiculous! If there's anyone a spirit such as yourself was going to visit, it would be me! I am Chi-Fu, a respected member of the Emperor's counsel, a trusted adviser, a loyal--"
"Listen, Seafood," he said, a bit rougher than necessary. "I'm not here to see you. I don't know you. Frankly, I don't want to know you. Now, if you don't shut it and let me get on my way, I'm going to send you to meet your ancestors up close and personal - y'got me?"
Chi-Fu sniffed, but stepped out of the way.
Xigbar walked past, bumping Chi-Fu with his elbow. Accidentally, of course.
"Well! I am going to report your behavior to the Emperor! You'll see, spirit! He listens to me - I'll have your shrine declared cursed! Unfunded! Taken down entirely!"
Xigbar heard, but said nothing.
