Challenge: [45] Oath
Title: Whispered Promises
Word Count: 188
Notes: Ok, just a warning for non-yaoi fans, there is a verrry little bit of Riku and Soraness going on, but I promise it's light.. ><
Riku looked up at the tri-colored sky and the setting sun. “Don’t you ever wish it could have stayed like this?” He turned with a sad smile to Sora who was clutching his legs at the edge of the water.
“But Riku, it can be like this again. Come back to me.”
“It’s not that easy. I wish I could explain it but– I just can’t, Sora.”
“But I love you Riku! Doesn’t that mean anything?!”
The sadness in Riku’s smile deepened before sitting up to brush a strand of hair out of Sora’s eyes. Sora pushed him away.
Riku slumped back, the smile leaving his face. “Even in my dreams you won’t smile like you used to.”
Sora sighed before shifting closer. “Riku, I love you. You know that. And I’m going to save you.”
“You can’t promise that.”
Sora leaned down and gently brushed his lips over Riku’s before leaning close to his ear.
“I promise I’ll save you.” He whispered before everything faded away and Riku came back to the real world. Sitting up in the darkness, he brushed a small tear from his eye.
