Challenge: Oath
Title: In Anger
Word Count: 177
Notes: Wanted to play on both meanings of "oath", and my Cid-muse was bitching for attention. Er... liberal swearing, just to warn ya. :)
It was common for Cid to swear. Everyone has their moments of pure frustration as it is, but that moment was enough for him. Leant under the shallow overhang of a building, the toothpick in his mouth splintering from being ground so hard, he was frustrated enough that he felt like just ripping on the first person who chose to talk to him. Aerith was frustrated. Yuffie was too young to realize what frustration was. Damnit, even Squall was frustrated and showing it, and that was a feat one rarely saw as it was.
They were hungry. They were cold. They were shelterless, abandoned, and Cid was craving nicotine like never before. Fucking Heartless. Fucking Maleficant. Fucking darkness. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck.
He wanted Hollow Bastion back - not this ramshackle excuse for a shelter town. Traverse was shit compared to home. Pure, unadulterated shit.
Someday, he’d reclaim it, after he got these kids on their feet. Then, he’d march back in there, and take back his home from them.
It was his oath in anger.
