Summary: Trapped in the darkness of his own mind, Riku meditates on the Keyblade and its new master.


My Inner Light

Keyblade...

...Keyblade

Did you know that was meant for me?
Is that what they told you?

Out of every heart in the universe
It chose mine:
Fit.
Strong.
Fearless.
Utterly capable.
The ultimate hero,
Destined to be the saviour of the worlds.

I guess the universe doesn't count on heartbreak.

That moment when the pain finally becomes too much, you have a choice:
Die.
Be reborn in darkness.

I couldn't give up completely; it's not in me.
That's why the Keyblade chose me.

What did they tell you about it, Sora?

That you got it by default?
You just happened to be there when I gave up on the light?
Maybe even that you were second choice?

They were disappointed in you at first.
"This is a hero?"
But they don't know you like I do.

There are no accidents, Sora.

The Keyblade chose right.
Its course never changed,
even when I was gone.

The Keyblade chose my heart.
It chose you.
You are its true master

For you are
my heart.
