Be Careful What You Wish For
Riku was furious. How in the hell had Sora won? He must have practiced in secret. No way could he have beaten Riku at the obstacle course otherwise.
The two of them were getting all mushy now over Sora’s victory. It made him sick. So he fled to the secret place to sulk.
The Door scared the shit out of him. It always had. But being close to it also made him feel…excited.
Somehow, Riku knew The Door led somewhere else. Somewhere far away from this floating chain of rocks.
He could see the keyhole, but he couldn't unlock it. It was a frustrating relief.
Riku leaned against the door now for comfort, his heart pounding. He had a weird feeling in the pit of his stomach, like something was about to happen.
Well it was, he reminded himself. Tomorrow they would sail away forever.
Only. He was really pissed at Sora right now for winning. What was next? Would he be able to swim faster, jump higher? Would he start getting the top grades in school, too?
Riku growled and punched the door. He knew he was really just angry because of the way they’d giggled together afterwards, happy, like they didn't even need him. He'd been the one who'd built the raft! He should have gotten to name it!
"I hate this place!" he shouted, hitting the door again. "Why can't it all just...disappear?!"
"Why indeed?" a voice asked behind him.
Riku whirled around, wide-eyed with fear, to find a stranger in the shadows. He couldn't see the guy's face; he was wearing a black robe with the hood pulled up. "Who the hell are you?"
"I am the answer to your prayers. I can give you everything you want, and everything you've never dreamed of." He took a step closer, and Riku backed away. This guy was fucking creepy. He was probably just another shoutakon who'd followed Tidus to the island, but still.
"Get away from me!" Riku shouted, slashing his arm through the air between them as the stranger continued to walk slowly toward him.
"How intriguing your heart is, Keyblade master. I'd known it would be strong, but not how beautifully flawed. I must touch it."
"I said keep away!" Riku shouted, panicked, and turned to run. But he found himself rooted in place as the cowled figure drew close enough for him to feel the man's breath, to see the unnatural yellow eyes. "Why are you doing this?!"
The deep voice was smooth as silk on steel. "Why do you resist? I'm giving you what you asked for. This world has been connected. The door is open."
Riku’s eyes flicked to The Door, but he was distracted from the sight of the glowing keyhole by a large hand stroking down his chest to stop ominously over his heart.
"You and I are going to become very close, Keyblade master. You should tell me your name now."
"Fuck you!" Riku spat, his mouth the only thing he still seemed able to control.
"As you wish."

Sora was halfway up the tree, he had the seagull egg in his sights, when suddenly he thought he heard someone calling him.
"Riku?"
He looked all around, but there was no sign of his friend. Sora shrugged, figuring it must have just been the wind.

Poor Riku! Holy crap.
I know, eh? XD
None the less, awesome. Truly awesome. I commend you for giving me chills. That and now I want to gouge out my mental eye. I'll have RikuAnswem nightmares for a month now. xD

But thanks for commenting! I'm glad you liked it - even though it scarred you. XD
