drabble challenge #56
Challenge: [56] Missing You
Title: For Reasons Unknown
Word Count: 162
Characters: Sephiroth, Cloud
Notes: No spoilers, and I don't even know if this fits the challenge, but i tried. First three lines are from Blink 182’s song “I miss you”
Hello there...
The angel from my nightmare,
The shadow in the background of the morgue...
He watched the other sigh, watched him shift and watched him sleep. It’s been too long since he saw the man last, really saw him. Without fighting, without exchanging feral words... this was the only time he was able to see him without wanting to circle his hands around that pretty neck and squeeze hard.
He didn’t know what it was that drew him to his other half on some nights, even when he’d just finished tormenting him that very same day. But he suspected that it was the very same reasons that drew him to the Coliseum to find him and then fight him.
But whatever it was, Cloud always waited, perhaps for the same reasons, for that shadow in the corner of his room to come back and watch him feign sleep again and again.
It didn’t feel right without him being there at all.
