Title: Hate
Challenge: [60] Sanctuary

Author Notes: Contains spoilers if you haven't beaten Hollow Bastion the second time. Slight Axel/Demyx. 
Summary: Axel mourns over the water.

 

Axel sat staring out into the dark waters of Destiny Island, his reflection displaying his swollen blood-shot eyes, and tear-stained cheeks. The only friend he had left was gone, killed by the keyblade master, by Roxas. Demyx had faded only moments before he had arrived, so there was no way he could have stopped it.

Demyx hated the violence, didn't like to fight, but was too afraid to leave the place that had taken him in when he was all alone, so he was forced to take on the keyblade master, and ultimately met his defeat.

The red-head splashed some water on his face, feeling the cool liquid drip down his features. Water was Demyx's only form of sanity, aside from his music. It was his only escape, his only release from the life he hated to live.

"I'm sorry, Demyx." Axel whispered to the water, hoping it would understand how he felt. A silent tear hit the water's surface, like it was embracing all the emotion held in the single droplet, and Axel knew Demyx was never really gone. Demyx was the water. He had reached his true sanctuary.

Poor Demyx. I agree with you, the poor guy never should've been in the Organization. Strong enough to look human... but far too gentle to be a warrior.

I started crying right there. There's just something about it that makes me want to rip out my heart. I haven't cried since, like, 6th grade. Which is quite a while back. So when I felt my eyes tearing up... It sort of felt weird. I was surprised, I guess. This is really good, is all I'm trying to say.

I'm glad it struck you so hard. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I'm sorry that it made you cry though. It must have felt so odd.
