Title: The Way the World Ends

He watches the darkness eat them up from both sides, and he stares and blinks against it, helpless, not knowing what to do. He feels guilty and scared and panicked all of the sudden, and he fears the dark, fears what’s going to happen to them and what might come after this.

He reaches forward, offering him his hand. If they’re together, he knows that he won’t be afraid.

Their hands don’t touch, and the darkness suffocates him, and he can only think of one thing in all of the confusion:

This is the way the world ends, isn’t it?

=o I like how this seems at first to be going in a hopeful direction, like they'll take each other's hands and be all right and all that, but then it turns right around and gets dark again.

I especially like your voice from Their hands don't touch on; I like how one thing is linked to another, almost as if being suffocated is a direct result of their hands missing each other. Pretty. ^^

I liked this a lot. In such a small amount of words, my emotions went from one feeling to another. The last line really conveyed an overwhelming sense of hopelessness to me, and I thought it was the perfect ending for this.

And on another note, I love that song by Franz Ferdinand. :D
