Part 1 2 3 4 5 6 and 7
Title: Vacation (Part 8)
Word count: 406
Spoilers: Inferred for KH2
Notes: Post KH2, Sora, Kairi, Riku. Idle thoughts have a way of becoming plans for adventure. Oh look- a Finding Nemo reference! XD Enjoy!
Sometimes you just have to ask for directions...
"We should have asked for directions half a league ago!" Riku shouted at him.
Sora turned, made a rude gesture, and turned back to the school of fish he'd been talking to.
"...Did those fish just mock Sora behind his back?" Kairi asked, tilting her head.
"What?"
"The fish-" she pointed, wide eyed, "they mimicked his arm movement."
Riku tilted his head, then shrugged. "If they did- maybe they were mocking me, not Sora."
Kairi giggled, then adopted a mock-scowl. "Want me to go beat them up for you?"
"You're very giddy today," Riku said, smirking at her.
Kairi stuck her tongue out briefly, ended in a giggle. "I'm a mermaid, Riku! We're on vacation- I'm a mermaid- and... we're all together." She hugged him from the side, cuddling underneath his arm. "I finally get to see what you saw while you were away. I'm just," she laughed at herself, "really really excited to be here."
He chuckled, squeezing his arm around her shoulders. "I'm glad you're really really excited. I'm also glad that we can do this; travel when things are quieter."
"When we can enjoy the scenery?" Sora muttered, coming up to them. His grin was sheepish. The host of silver fish in the background weaved and dodged.
Kairi looked at them and her jaw fell open. "Are they waving at us?" Sure enough- the school of fish had formed an enormous hand and were waving goodbye as dozens of voices called the same.
"Yeah... they said we were still a few leagues away," he murmured, scratching his head lightly.
Kairi was waving back by this time, being polite.
"So we have to swim for a while yet?" Riku asked. "...I thought dolphins were supposed to be smart."
Sora made a face at him, but didn't take the bait. "We have to go this way." He swam off in said direction.
Kairi gave Riku a last squeeze and followed to one side. Riku flanked Sora on the other.
"Sora?" He broke the silence after a while.
"Hmm?"
"Do the Flipper noise."
There was the sound of a female voice, choking back a snicker, the sound of a broad fleshy object hitting something similar, and a pained shout.
"I'm so sorry, Riku!" Sora said innocently. "I didn't mean to hit you that hard."
Another hit- instantly followed by another- then two male voices grunting and a girl's laughter.
Ten minutes later they resumed the journey.

I love the Finding Nemo fish, although they would have been more eager in telling Kairi the proper directions, gentleman fishies that they were.
Ahahaha, Riku! So snarky.

I totally heart the Finding Nemo fish.
And the Flipper joke.
