Challenge 76
Challenge: Fairy Tales
Title: Everlasting
Word Count: 187
Characters: Sora, Kairi, Riku, OrgXIII, etc
Notes: completely AU; a fairy tale
§·§·§
The prince languished.
All sorts of remedies had been tried on him, all sorts of amusement had been provided. Men and women of all trades had paraded through the castle for years: a specialist in matters of the heart; a gifted herbalist; a magician who dealt in fire; a juggler of spears; a water charmer; a potion maker; a—the list went on and on.
The prince languished.
One day, a young witch came to the castle, took one look at the prince and said, “He needs to remember.” But she would say no more.
The prince had duties. Even in his misery he won many battles and made his kingdom stronger through alliances. An elderly king offered his daughter’s hand in marriage; the prince accepted because the girl was beautiful and kind. The petite king of a far away land brought for the prince a young knight to serve him, and the prince accepted because the man was proud and steadfast.
One day, the prince looked at his bride’s gentle blue eyes, exchanged friendly banter with his first knight and, he smiled.
The prince remembered.
