I'm not dead... yet!
Challenge: [101] Puppet
Title: Only puppets
Word Count: 234 (at least, OpenOffice claims that)
"Superioo~oor!"
Xemnas turned, slightly annoyed by the whining. "Yes, Number Nine, what is it?"
"Vexen keeps taking my Dancers!" Demyx wailed. "He experiments on them and he just vivisected my favorite! She was so cute and such a talented one! Make him stop, Superior, he has Nobodies, too, why isn't he using them-"
"Demyx!"
The deep, commanding voice worked splendidly, The Nocturne shut up and shrunk a bit.
"It doesn't matter, which Nobodies Vexen's using, Nine. Stop being so emotional, you're a Higher Nobody after all, have some dignity. You'll get other Dancers."
"But I like my Dancers..." Demyx mumbled. "I don't want them to suffer..."
"They're just puppets, Nine, faceless, nameless, replaceable minions. Nothing more, merely our pawns. I'm getting tired by your obnoxious rants. This game of pretending is worthless, you have no heart, no feelings. Keep that in mind."
Demyx's eyes darkened. He pressed his lips together, clenched his fists, and stomped his foot like a child. "They're Nobodies as well! They only want their hearts back, like we do! We're pawns as well!" He turned sharply and the dark portal swallowed him.
Xemnas frowned, then continued his way to his office. He'll have to ask Saix to remind Nine where his place was. No matter, how nicely Demyx sang, how soft his features were, how effective his fighting style was... the puppet had to be punished for his insolence.
