Challenge: [107] Savvy
Title: Not Savvy
Word Count: 416
Spoilers: MAJOR POTC3 SPOILERS! Beware!
Notes: I was very inspired after seeing PotC 3 [pshh, I wanted to scream in my room for two hours], and decided to enter. I haven't posted in a while, anyway. Enjoy~
"Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for-"
"Jack!"
Captain Jack Sparrow whipped his head up from looking at his compass of desire to stare straight at Sora, who was fast approaching, flanked by Goofy and Donald, who were a bit behind him. "Yes, a pirate's life for Jack, but I was going to say for me, mate."
"Uhhm... okay," Sora mumbled, not hearing Jack's song previously. "...Long time, no see!"
"Oh! It's... you!" Jack exclaimed, closing his compass with a loud snap. "Your name... Fola, am I correct?"
"It's Sora!" Donald puffed after reaching Sora's side.
"Yes, yes, I do remember now. But when you sail the seven, eight, nine seas, you do forget names. Quite common and forgivable. Moving on!" Jack rushed. Sora, Donald, and Goofy exchanged looks.
"Anyway, we stopped by for a visit," Sora explained. Jack nodded absently while staring at Donald with inquisitive eyes. There was an awkward silence. Before Donald could break it by asking to leave, Sora beat him and said, "So, how's Will?"
"Dead," Jack said with no enthusiasm.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy jumped a little. "D-D-DEAD?" They stuttered in unison.
"Well, dead, but not quite dead. He's dead, truly, but he seems so alive he could not be dead altogether and we could go on assuming he's dead until we discover that he's half-alive, half-dead. Savvy?"
"...Not savvy," Sora said weakly. "B-but how..?"
Jack smiled. "Long story, mate. You'd enjoy hearing the story of how Elizabeth became pirate king more than that. Much shorter. Easier to rattle off the tongue, savvy?"
"Not savvy!" Donald huffed angrily. "When and how did Elizabeth become pirate KING?"
Jack revealed his gold-plated teeth again. "Come to think of it, that's quite a long story too. I think you'd rather hear about my mum. Saw her the other day... yes, you'd really like to hear about her, savvy?"
"Savvy!" Goofy beamed. Donald and Sora threw him dirty looks. "Er..." he gulped dramatically. "I mean... hyuk... first ya gotta start from the beginning and tell us about Will!"
"Well, if I start from the beginning, I won't be telling you mates about Will. The beginning doesn't start with Will, it nears the ending with Will, savvy?"
Sora exhaled deeply. "Okayyy. Tell us everything from the beginning. And don't forget about Will." There was a slight pause before Sora realized he couldn't resist to say it.
"Savvy?"
Jack eyed him curiously, but then his lis curled into a devious pirate smile. "Savvy, mate. Now, it all starts when I found this strange white rock that tastes like Barbossa's backside..."
