Title: I'll Follow the Sound
Word Count: 199
Warning/s: First-person, present tense, and it has a lot of sentences that start with conjunctions. Grammar etiquette, what's that? ^^;

I may be blind, but I wasn't born this way. I could see once. And I still remember what everything looked like. I close my eyes, out of habit, and I can see it all in front of me - my reflection in a green ocean, the endless sky bluer than everything but Sora's eyes, the white bubbles of clouds turned bright orange and pink at sunset, the brown palm trees, silver fish, gold-and-black sun pools, rainbow waterfalls - all of it distorted, false memory, like liquid dreams.

When you lose your sight, you gain something else unexpected: clarity of memory. I can remember smelling the sand, feeling every breeze, and especially hearing. I can remember exactly the sound of waves on the shore, seagull calls, the wind rustling through palm leaves, the splash and Sora's yelp after I push him off the island to win our match, the tone of his shouting, "Riku, you jerk!" and his whining, "That's cheating!"

It's been some time since I saw the beach, the sky, or anything. But it's been so much longer since I heard his voice.

I have got to get back to you, Sora. Call me, and I'll blindly follow the sound.

Ohh, the presentation of this was great! Gorgeous imagery. I can't help sympathizing with Riku, and feeling strongly about everything he's remembering, and that one image of Sora is really powerful. ...and now I'm once again depressed for them T_T
