She is the light in his heart...
Title: A Light in Hearts
Challenge: Importance
Count: 245-ish
Notes: If you can guess the pairing, you rule :p
There's just something about it.
The way his palm brushes hers, her smooth skin against his callused, worn hand, the one that's so used to gripping leather and metal instead. It's a strange feeling, her warm chestnut brown hair against his chest. Or the way that their fingers entwine, a pink ribbon laced between them. She's so soft, so delicate, yet so strong at the same time.
Once upon a time, they were indifferent. They were acquaintances, comrades, nothing more than a boy and a girl thrown into a rough situation, parents lost, a toddler in tow, having lost everything for the sake of a nutjob on a power trip. Nothing was wonderful then - nothing was happy, everything was a fight for survival and the depression of being a kid, all alone in a brave new world.
But now there's light, a light in hearts. Her soft lips trailing along his throat, his hand roaming along the curve of her thigh. He is loved, he is wanted, and above all, he is staring into gorgeous emerald eyes, lost in them, willingly drowning within their gaze. Her fingers toy with his silver lion pendant, before drifting across his skin.
There's nothing that could make the moment more memorable, more loving, or more precious than it already is, encasing her in his arms, protecting her from harm and hell.
She is more special - no, more important - than anything else in the world.
