Challenge: 191 - One-liners
Title: Hollow
Word Count: 139
Notes: I wasn't even going to post this week, but then I randomly had an idea for the prompt and typed this up about five minutes ago, meaning it's probably dreadful and cheesy and contains the worst joke ever.
Axel doesn’t think about death much, but when it crosses his mind it refuses to leave without serious contemplation. He supposes there’s no real place for his kind. Maybe Nobodies are meant to linger in the vestibules of hell, or the lobbies of heaven.
If such places even exist. He was never much of a theist.
But it’s unnatural to be plastered between the Underworld and the Elysian Fields, isn’t it?
Can Nobodies reincarnate? He doubts it; nonbeing can’t come into being, can it? He’s never understood that nirvana crap anyway.
“What do you think happens to us when we fade away?” he asks, failing as he tries to pass off the topic casually.
“I dunno,” Roxas shrugs. “I mean, we may not have hearts, but you have to admit… we’ve got a hell of a lot of soul.”
