Challenge: Blame
Title: I should have...
Word count: 89

He said he did not do it.

I did not believe him.

The hope in his beautiful blue eyes faded into oblivion leaving despair in its wake. Regret tore my heart into pieces. But I just stood there, lost in my emotions.

I should have stopped him from leaving. I should not have let him go. I should have gone after him. I should not have listened to those rumours. I should have told him I was wrong. I should not have hesitated. I should have …

…believed him.

Great use of the word count. :D The best drabbles are always ones that cay say the most with the least words. You can really feel the regret in this.

Nice little introspective piece. I couldn't really make out what part of the game you were refering to, if any. "Blue eyes" and feelings of guilt isn't much to go on. ^_-

But it was definitely a nice practice at writing from the blmae pov. I really liked the use of repetition (the idea of "tyranny of the 'shoulds; comes to mind. Too much psych. XP).

(And, just an aside, you might want to reread. I think by "Regret torn my heart..." you meant "Regret tore my heart...")
