Challenge: [080] Arithmetic
Title: Mathemagician
Word count: 195
Spoilers: None
Notes: This is...a bit of an obscure reference. XD But whoever catches it gets a plateful of cookies from me!
Donald never told anyone he'd visited another world long before gummi ships were invented.
It'd been right after he'd been made the Royal Court Wizard –Daisy had gushed about it for days- and he wanted to try out some of his new magic. What could a simple enchantment on a hall closet door hurt?
He figured something was amiss when he stepped through into a forest of square roots and strange birds that quoted pi to endless digits. Going deeper into the forest only made things worse, especially when the spirit started talking to him.
When he finally found his way back through the enchanted door and into the castle hall, he was shaken to the core. Had he been gone hours or days, or even weeks? And who would believe him if he said he knew a pentagram equaled a perfect rectangle equaled a perfect spiral? Or that a chord cut in half produces a tone one octave higher? Or that he had seen the very nature of infinity? So when Daisy demanded to know where he'd been, he clammed up and made excuses.
But from then on, he always beat Goofy at billiards.
