Title - L = LHsquared
Challenge - Forbidden Love
Word Count - 231 o.O;
Notes - At the time I'd written this the drabble did make sense, but when you write Ansem you can never really tell... Maybe if you squint hard enough it will fit the challenge better.

When he was young he’d been foolish.

He’d been a budding scientist, and was thus an idealist. His time was limited, so he was quick to meddle in things, get lost in thought and experiment for the better good. At the time, he’d thought he didn’t need to bother with people or his kingdom, consider dreams outside of his science, because to die without knowing everything at his fingertips was unthinkable.

He’s no longer a young man, a romantic soul searching for the equations and answers to life’s questions. The problem had been in front of him the whole time, yet he could not believe it. It was almost ironic how he had to sacrifice so much to gain more time, just to learn this...

When did love ever get into the quota? He was a powerful man, had observed all that there was to be seen, had all the time he could need…and yet here was something still forbidden to him, gone to him in his current state.

What did it all matter in the end when the one thing he could have had, that which could defeat him, was the very thing against him? How could he have missed this…had his calculations been wrong?

No, he was never wrong, it was not possible. Love was not lost to him because...it was never in the equation to begin with.
