All great warriors working as a team are said to develop their own code of nonverbal communication. Such a skill is dead handy on recon, for example, or say when surrounding the enemy to gain the advantage by surprise. These mighty heroes will stalk up on their prey, resembling a pride cutting across the savannah - swiftly, soundlessly, gracefully. Determined, focussed, one with the pack. This type of sixth sense is essential if you are going to be in epic battles against a formidable foe or against the sheer force of staggering numbers of adversaries.

Unfortunately for a certain odd-matched, inter-worldly traversing trio, it takes time and practice to acquire such a fabled skill. So when Sora, Donald and Goofy spotted from the distance a large troupe of Heartless descending upon the defenceless merchants in the streets of Agrabah, it was the captain of the guard who suggested the strategic advantage of a stalk-and-pounce technique. As one, they started out.

It began easily once they were supposedly within hearing range of the enemy. Sora observed Goofy indicating a half-circular motion with his right hand before jerking up. Go around – get to the rooftops. That was the easy part.

The hard part came during the short trek when he’d completely lost sight of Goofy, who was supposed to be making his way up the opposite buildings, and had to rely on Donald for further instructions. The duck’s feathered hands were such a flurry of motion that Sora could only blink at him stupidly. Go further on and stay where? Goofy – what? When? Frowning and mouthing his confusion, he asked the magician for clarification.

Now what you should know is that the duck was not the most patient of his kind. So while he did indulge the Keyblade wielding thick-headed snot with a repeated performance, his gestures got more agitated and even harder to interpret. A second and third attempt had Donald so wound up with steaming frustration that he opened his beak and ranted loudly at the little twit, without a care who or what might hear them. This in turn tipped off the harassing Heartless to their presence.

That day Sora learned an important lesson. With companions such as his, it was better to charge into any given situation with a fierce, “Let’s get them!”
