Title: When It Rains
Word Count: 209
Characters: Donald Duck, Alice, Sora, Goofy
Warnings: Wonderland-ish-ness.
Summary: In Wonderland, nothing is ever - ever - as it seems.
Donald glares at her as she wrings out the hem of her soaked blue dress, then her white apron.
“They're quiet, you know,” she says to Sora, who is genuinely interested. Wonderland fascinates him so. “The raindrops. They speak very quietly, and it takes a trained ear to hear them,” she continues to explain, now wringing out her blonde hair as she sits on the stump nearest her. The wood shifts and works itself into a comfortable frame for her.
“Really?” Sora asks. Donald slaps a hand over his face, and glowers from between his fingers as he mutters profanities into his palm when he realizes Goofy's been sucked into her story, too.
“Oh, yes,” Alice says, smiling like the child she is, folding her hands neatly on her lap.
“Hey, Donald, where're ya goin'?” Goofy asks, noticing the duck shove himself off from the wall he had been leaning against for the last few minutes. “It's rainin' cats and dogs out there!”
“That only happens once in awhile,” Alice murmurs.
“Phooey,” Donald snaps, waving the rest off as he steps outside. “It's just a little rain.”
But even waterproof feathers cannot prevent the chill that suddenly runs down his spine as he stands in the downpour, thousands of angry whispers rushing passed his ears.
