Challenge: 177 [Pretty Lies]
Title: Starscream
Word Count: 160
warnings: COM spoilers? Also the title and icon make no sense whatsoever unless you're trope savvy.
Smile. Flatter him, tell him how smart and wonderful his plan is. Play along, pretend like you’re just the man he needs, pretend that you are in his camp 100 percent, don’t ever let him know that you’re plotting his demise.
Show no signs of insubordination.
Subvert his authority every chance you get.
And suddenly he trusts you, oh yes. Puts you in a position of power, gives you an important job.
And you do it, faithfully, but you do it in such a way that he can’t tell how badly you’re screwing him over.
The look on his face when you stand gloating over his fallen form is what makes it all worthwhile.
Marluxia dreams of this moment plenty, savors it as Sora climbs higher and higher, but comes no closer to being able to cry “Xemnas has fallen!”
And meanwhile, Axel looks the other way while Namine escapes, a wicked smile dancing at the corners of his mouth.
