Synopsis: Another battle. Just another battle. The thoughts are still the same; the feelings lingering. Another side of the same battle. Another side to the same story.

Favorite.

The word was like poison on his tongue. It was a word that scratched, bit, and tore at his thoughts – his very will. Many would think that this did not matter. That one so cold, so unfeeling, so... heartless could not feel pain. Could not feel pity, sorrow, regret, or remorse. Only anger. Only darkness.

But what of jealousy?

He stood, with an icy countenance to match his unwavering glare, a pale hand tightly gripping his weapon, the stark skin a sharp contrast to the forbidding obsidian. He was silent. Still. He studied his enemy, and oh, how he loathed him. The hate boiled, mingling with the roiling darkness that swept through his corrupted mind like a deathly fog. One would never guess what lay beneath the churning emotions.

Jealousy?

Fear?

Regret?

Apology?

I'm so sorry...

This is what he had wanted. He had wanted freedom. He had wanted no chains. Darkness granted him that, did it not? But alas, imprisonment still bound him. A different kind. No ocean kept him from the world – simply his heart. It had betrayed him.

I didn't mean for this to happen...

Deceit had snaked around him and swallowed him whole.

It had spared him.

Sora.

That stupid boyish grin.

That cheery demeanor.

That Keyblade.

That heart.

Everyone had chosen him. He was the loved one. He was the hero.

Not Riku.

Sora.

The favorite.

It's a new perseption of Riku and his feelings all though KH. Jealousy is actually something I considered him feeling, but gave it not a second thought.
