She had known from the beginning what his decision would be, what it had to be, but it had still hurt. Just a little. After all, she had once been someone dear to him, if only for a short while.
She was going to miss that trusting smile, the fiery determination which burned behind those eyes, the sincerity of his impossible promises.
Her heart aches as she watches him sleep, watches him forget everything - forget her. And part of her wants to scream. But then, of course, she remembers that he was never really hers to miss.
