Challenge: Elation
Title: The Meaning of Words
Words: 183 (I think)
Spoilers: Uhm... Everyone knows Riku and Sora right?
Notes: New to the drabble game. New to the live journal thing. So if this is wrong (-ly placed) or anything, don't hesitate to correct. Thank you.

Elation. Beautiful flight of the heart, soaring above the forest of discontent and despair. Riku doesn't like the word elation. "Sounds like inflation," he says, "and who wants to be a balloon?"

Sora will smile and Riku will get that feeling again and Sora will say, "Yeah, I'd rather be a bird. Imagine having wings Riku! How cool."

And Riku will finally understand the feeling he gets is elation with a dabble of something else when he sees the sky reflected in Sora's blue, blue eyes.

first of all, i am so sorry about the lateness of this post. there are reasons, but ultimately, all reasons just become excuses, so i'll spare you guys the drama. -__-;; again, terribly sorry... *smacks self*


anyway, with that being said - wow. you guys made this extremely difficult for me to choose, and i mean that. there was a wonderful variety of drabbles in the challenge, and the turn out was much better than i had expected.

unfortunately, it did have to come down to one in the end, and that one is Eye of the Storm by surestsmile.

as wonderful as all of the entries were, something about the characterization and tone of this piece just struck a chord with me. so congratulations, and thank you all for participating! awesome job! ^___^
