In art, it's a quick, simple exercise that allows the artist to create a vision, or gain a general understanding of an object's surface, shape, and nature. In life, it's a wave of a hand or a smile, or frantic motions should a speaker find himself at a loss for words. It's foreheads pressed together, it's her hands over her mouth, and it's him wiping away tears.
The drawing is simple. The smile is effortless. Yet both have meaning far beyond their exterior; they convey far more emotion than language can identify.
Challenge [134] is Gestures, and will be due by Tuesday, January 29th.
