Wow! Now there's a result I didn't expect. Cheers very much, guys. Even the nail shoved into my car tyre doesn't feel so bad now. You all made me feel snuggly from my ear-tips right down to my lil' tootsies.
Dan Rather said every dream begins with someone ‘who believes in you, who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with a sharp stick called Truth.’ Challenge #201 is about the people who inspire, who guide, who influence, and who sometimes have more power than even they realise – whether or not they use that power properly. We all have them in our pasts. We have stories about them that make us laugh, cry, growl and curse. We remember the bad ones, but we never forget the good ones. The very best can change the course of our lives, and go through their own like candles – consuming themselves to light the way for others. Sometimes we even become them ourselves, and it’s a surprise when we’re not expecting it. As Haim G. Ginott said: ‘Teachers are expected to reach unattainable goals with inadequate tools. The miracle is that at times they accomplish this impossible task.’
Challenge ends on 25th September.
