This is my first post here…I couldn’t resist writing a bit of chibi!Riku and chibi!Sora for this challenge.
Challenge: Breaking
Title: A Broken Vase
Word Count: 190
Characters: a little Riku and Sora, and Riku’s mother.
CRASH
“Riku!!”
No answer.
“Riku, come here! This is the third vase you’ve broken this week!”
She waits patiently for her troublesome son to show himself and accept his punishment.
“I’m not kidding, Riku! I told you, if you broke one more vase-”
A tiny figure pokes his head through the doorway. Brown hair in disarray from playing tag in the house, and deep blue eyes filling with tears from guilt.
“Oh! Sora, dear, I didn’t know you were here.”
The boy stays silent.
“Did- did you do this?”
Tears threatening to spill over gave her an answer.
“Sweetheart, it’s ok, I’m sure it was an accident.”
A hopeful smile.
She gives him a pat on the head and walks off. Sora turns and runs around the corner to where Riku waits.
“Did it work?” Riku asks his friend. Sora nods. He grins. “No-one can resist your guilt tears.”
A triumphant smile spreads across the smaller boy’s face. “Now- since I got you out of trouble…” He walks up to Riku, pokes him in the shoulder and runs away, shouting, “Tag! You’re It!!”
