Title: Over

It's almost time for lunch. Kairi can tell by the way that the sun has dropped behind her head a little and she can feel the warmth at the back of her neck. This is the perfect time to swim, the water isn't chilly yet -- having had half the day to warm. She wonders, idly, if it's worth getting up from the beach chair, or if she waits long enough one of the boys will bring her something. If I were younger... she thinks with a crooked smile; crooked because she isn't even that old yet.
"Moooooooom~~~"
Ah, the hellions are restless. With a sigh, Kairi eased herself up out of her chair, feet sinking in the moist sand. It seemed like yesterday had been cut out of her life, that she only had her childhood (brief and scattered as it had been) and today. The tide is coming in, the water tells her in soft waves. As she heads to the dock, she can only think of the 'what if...'s.
A look back shows her a reflection of the sky in the earth. Kairi draws her fingers across her eyes to block out the glare, because the sun reminds her of smiles. She erases the rest of the world, briefly, and sees Sora and Riku back to back. A grin, a thums up, a victory sign, and then a pair of turned backs framed by nothing but light.
"Moooooooooooooooooom."
More insistently this time. She turns back to the boys, a bright grin on her face. "Sorry, I got distracted, I was thinking." She offers by way of apology, reaching out to take two smaller hands with her own. In the back of her mind Namine slowly draws a black border around a picture of three friends on Destiny Island... and starts a new picture.
