Challenge: [95] Poison
Title: Poisonous Words
Word Count: 268
Notes: Spoilers for a certain Disney movie and KH1? ^^; Kinda vague-ish, but I hope you enjoy! ^_^
Her words had been a slow poison from the start. Whispering, drifting across the carpeted floor towards the ears of the courtiers and other guests; to the queen and the king and the fairies surrounding them.
The whisper of death that would come to the princess they treasured.
Later it was poison that was used; on the tip of the instrument meant to kill it rested, waiting for the touch of the one it was intended for. A very specific poison—but every poison has an antidote—sleep came instead of death.
When the heartless came in swarms and droves, trickling over the hills and creeping through the halls, she knew she had another chance to make her poison work; to take away what she had been promised long ago—the life of a princess, the heart of one that was pure—and her companions would fall, too.
She found another ear to pour poison into, a slow drip—word by word she curdled the heart and mind of one boy—
"See, he has new friends now, Sora has forgotten about you and Kairi. Playing the hero, thinking this is a game—why don't you stay with me and I will show you how to save your princess."
Drip
Drip
The words slowly ate away at the soul of one that had been destined to fight what he became, the poison worked all too well on the Heart of this Keyblade Bearer.
Maleficent smiled, lips curling up at the corners as she watched the fruits of her labor.
Poison, in the end, was always the most successful weapon.
