Spoilers: For KH2 if you don't know who Demyx is
Notes: Boy I hope this isn't late, I should quit procrastinating.
Music without a heart was very difficult.
Without being able to pour one's metaphorical heart into something one was so attached to, it just became mechanical. Dull. You'd quit listening for what sounded nice and what sounded correct in the song.
Then again, Demyx's music wasn't for entertainment anyone. It was a weapon, meant to cut the enemy down.
He didn't find any enjoyment on taking someone down.
The Melodious Nocturne made a face as a sour note ruined the melody he had been working on, now focusing on the task at hand to see what chord would be correct for this ballad.
Really, once you loose your heart, there's not any delight in music anymore.
