Challenge: Teenage Rebellion [120]
Title: Stand Here
Word Count: 185
Notes/Warnings: None
There weren’t really all that many people she was close to, which was unfortunate in a way, because then maybe she could have talked it out with someone.
Then again, perhaps it was fortunate as well, because- given the way the entire town was behaving- it wouldn’t have surprised her if they’d roped her in even further than she already was. It wasn’t that she wouldn’t have minded, and it wasn’t that she didn’t like doing things for Jack, but everyone was just a little too enthusiastic about it. Sally didn’t think she could blame them, really, but she didn’t want to mother the whole of Halloween Town. Jack was bad enough, and almost made her wish for someone (who’d looked as though he dealt with that sort of thing with his friends a lot) else who could point out the flaws and help her make Jack see sense. Or, well, calm down a little. Just a little. After all, everyone was so excited.
Sally hoped she didn’t have to play damage control too much. There was only so much one raggedy doll could do.
