Challenge: [174] Before
Title: Anywhere But Here
Word Count: 388
Notes: So i tossed around the idea of this one connecting to my last one...but i couldn't get it to work =x=''' So instead you get little Sora and Riku~!
"Rikuuuuu~!!"
"Soraaaaaaa?"
The small brunette giggled as he bounced impatiently. Riku had gotten grounded earlier in the week when his mom found out he was the one who put mud in Selphie's hair. Poor Sora hadn't been able to hang out with him, but now that Riku was free, he was taking forever!
Sora hopped from foot to foot as the silverette came closer, before he full body tackled the older boy. Riku laughed as he fell backwards, letting out a small "oof" as he hit the ground. Sora grinned from above him and stuck his tongue out. "You're so slow" Riku stuck his tongue out back and shoved the brunette playfully. Sora laughed and got off him, dusting off his red shorts like he actually cared he had gotten dirty. Riku smirked and tossed Sora's wooden sword to him. "C'mon. I gotta beat you before I get rusty." Sora squawked indignantly and ran after Riku as the silverette headed for their boat.
As the sun was setting, Sora yawned and swung his foot out, lightly bonking Riku in the head. "Oi Riku~..." Said boy looked up, mockingly annoyed , and pushed the other boys foot away. "What?" Sora smiled and sat up. "This is nice isn't it?" Riku blinked and looked up. "What...this?" Sora nodded and titled his head. "It'll always be like this right?" The older boy turned his head back out to the ocean, not really seeing anything. "I..." His glazed eyes focused suddenly on a small figure at the end of the beach. He made a strangled noise and took off, an alarmed Sora quick on his heels.
A girl, closer to Sora's age than Riku's, lay face first in the damp sand. Riku ran up to her, quickly turning her over as Sora panicked. "Oh man Riku~! What is she doing here?! Where did she come from?!" Riku hissed at him to shut it and he quieted slightly. The silverette rolled his shoulders and slid his hands under the girl's limp form. Sora's breath caught slightly as he followed Riku back to their boat.
A strange, cold wind blew from their secret place as they walked by. Sora shuddered and walked faster, holding onto the edge of Riku's shirt lightly.
"It'll always be like this right?"
"I...don't know..."
This was only the beginning
