Title: Of Maps and Miniature Earl Grey
Word Count: 575 (I am seriously beginning to doubt my ability to write short drabbles... I have no idea how this turned into such a beast!)

Black boots, gloves, and awesomely badass form-fitting cloak: Check.

Hair gel (water resistant), extra hold: Check.

Drawings and scribbles on aforementioned cue cards, most of the confusing, inappropriate, and/or erroneous sort: Check.

Pre-formed opening statement for potentially-obligatory monologue: Check.

Copy of world map charting interconnecting pathways of darkness: Check.

The Complete Neophyte's Guide to Portals and Teleporting: Check.

... ...

Demyx stumbled rather ungracefully from the now rapidly-closing gap in the dark matter, eventually managing to realign himself and doing a quick visual scan of his surroundings. He was in a room, with giant...

... furniture?

Weird. Well, Xemnas did say something about size-changing, and potions or cookies that he was or wasn't supposed to drink or eat but he'd have to look at the mission briefing again if he wanted to be sure.

He scratched his head a little. Maybe if he pulled out his map and read over the cue cards at the same time, he'd be able to put two and two together and figure out just what world exactly he was supposed to be teleporting to. Because wherever he was now, something was telling him that this wasn't it.

Something was also telling him that backtracking all the way to The World That Never Was and having to come up with some really good excuse as to why he needed to be told the name of the place again probably wasn't the greatest idea in the box.

Speaking of boxes--he turned to look at what he thought was a super-sized one to the left of him, and nearly jumped out of his skin when a woman without a head came flying out. Not that her apparent decapitation frightened him or anything (after all, how could it?), it was just that a headless naked lady being tossed rather violently out of a huge wooden crate wasn't something you saw every day.

She landed lifelessly on the carpeted ground beneath them. Abandoning his map idea for the moment, Demyx walked over to her, cautiously, not one hundred percent sure that she was dead. Upon closer inspection, her legs were only pieces of cloth, crudely attached to a rubbery torso with the kind of proportions that would make most women at least slightly envious.

If she were real. A doll, he realized. A doll without a dolly cranium, but a doll nonetheless. Come to think of it, the entire expanse of floor was littered with life-sized toys... unless...

Well, shit.

What happened next happened very quickly; fortunately, for it was a chain of events that wasn't exactly worth remembering.

A giant girl came into the room and picked up the unfortunate barbie-mutant, cradling it in her arms for a moment and whispering something about dress-up and tea parties before she caught sight of him standing frozen on the ground.

"Ooooh, Sid musta got a new toy," she exclaimed, her facial expression morphing from distraught to happy-curious as she picked him up with her free hand.

"H-hey," Demyx started, flailing when the huge fingers squeezed him around the middle and held onto him tightly as she made her way towards the door.

She didn't seem to notice. "Well isn't that nice, Dolly?" she addressed the headless creature. "Looks like we have a nice new boy doll to play with!"

He made it back, unscathed for the most part--Xemnas started circling the location on the map in permanent red marker for him from then on.
