kh_drabbleChallenge: [218] Eyes
Title: Statues
Word Count: 214
Spoilers: none
Rating/Warnings: PG and none
Notes: Post-KH2. Riku always feels like, somebody’s watching hiiiiiim.
"It's creepy."
Sora shoved him. "It is not! They're just doing their job," he waved his arms to conjure the appropriate word, "you know... protecting."
"Do they have to be so- hey, Kairi, wait up!" Creepy or no, Riku took off when Kairi broke out of the wide-eyed stare and all but ran for the cathedral doors. Sora hopped a step, broke into a jog to follow.
The doors, large and quite heavy, slowed her down. As did the hush of sound within the stone walls, the dimly lit alcoves on either side and-
"Wow," Riku muttered.
Sora grinned. "It's amazing, isn't it?" he whispered.
Archways, dozens of them on either side, building up the walls, stained glass and the polished brass of the pipe organ in the upper floor. The statues, all of them staring but Riku did his best to ignore them. So what if he felt like he was being watched? Sora liked it, and Kairi liked it, and there was something about the atmosphere of the church....
"Really amazing," Kairi breathed, hugging herself and smiling widely... with her eyes closed.
It was about then that it dawned on him; the statues had nothing to do with it. Riku stared, breathed out in a startled laugh.
Notre Dame had a heart.

Date: 2010-02-28 03:57 am (UTC)haha anyway, i like this!! it fits wonderfully into the hunchback of notre dame's world, i think. it's a really groovy take on the challenge, too =)

Date: 2010-02-28 07:24 am (UTC)Too bad Hunchback isn't as popular as other Disney movies are in Japan--there'd be a better chance of it getting into a KH game and it would make such a neat world to explore.
