Riku’s heart is in the stars.
He is not a pure being from another world. He does not carry the heart of a lost hero. He’s just a boy. He was born an islander, destined to give his heart, and his work, and someday his body, to the sea.
But there came to him a stranger, when he was very young: a troubled knight, who spoke of other worlds, and showed him the key that opens any lock. Once there were chains that tied a little boy’s heart to the heart of his world – that is, to the sea. But from that day the locks were opened, and the chains were broken, and that boy was taken from his world forever. Riku’s heart is in the stars, now. It will always be in the stars.

Someday, when the darkness comes back, he will wonder why his home is always the first world to break.
