Title: Homework
Challenge: 279- Fairytales
Word Count: 440
Notes: I have absolutely no idea where this came from, and I don't like it very much, but hey.

“This is worse than my homework,” Roxas grumbles, and Ven agrees with him as usual.

“It can’t be that hard,” Kairi argues, “we’ve seen a lot of them, after all.”

Riku shrugs. He hasn’t got anyone in his head to argue with. “Let’s get started, then. Write a fairy tale.”

“Once upon a time,” Naminé murmurs, smiling faintly, and they begin.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, lived a brave knight (No, he was a hero! Knights can be heroes…) who heard rumours of a pretty little princess being held captive by a band of evil witches who were actually sorcerers but everyone called them witches. So the hero (named Sora- was not! Riku! We’ll compromise with Soku. That just sounds weird… Shut it!) went off with his (why a guy? Girl power!) fine, her… no, his, her sounds weird… Noble Steed (Gummi!) to find and save the princess.

He got there, to a big white castle in the middle of the desolate wasteland, only to find another knight had gotten there first and was busy trouncing all the witches. Soku recognised her as Xiri, his best friend. Once they got past all the sorcerers, they found the princess Nalle dancing happily with a hideous beast who had used the power of his heart to meet her (that makes no sense. You weren’t there!). Only Nalle wasn’t enchanted, but enchanter, having drawn them to her in a deadly reversal.

She held the two brave knights in thrall to protect them from their doom, for unbeknownst to them, there was an even greater threat on its way. Soon enough, a hooded figure burst through the door, his black cloak flowing out behind him and a blank (but very evil) mask covering his face.

“Hand them over and ye shall be spared,” the evilly-masked knight growled, whipping out twin blades.

“Never!” Nalle exclaimed, picking up her magical sketchbook and scrawling a quick picture.

“Curses,” the knight grumbled, “foiled again.” His mask fell off to reveal someone who looked a lot like Soku; indeed, it was his evil twin, Roxitas! (… so. Cliché. Oh, shut up!)

Soku and Roxitas finally agreed to reconcile, and they (along with Xiri and Nalle) headed back to the castle to live happily ever after.

The teacher shook her head, completely at a loss for what was going on. The fairy tale Sora had turned in for his English homework looked all right, but… it argued with itself, and why did the handwriting keep changing? Something very strange was going on here, something very strange indeed. And she was determined to find out what.
