Title: For No Man Is An Island
Word Count: 100
Spoilers: KH3D spoilers ahoy!
Notes: Kind of a metaphorical take on the prompt. This… went in a direction I wasn’t entirely expecting. Lots of thoughts and feels on the nature of worlds in Kingdom Hearts, and how people and worlds are similar. Metaphysics, love the metaphysics.


“A Keyblade Master is a world unto himself.”

Sora turns, startled to see Yen Sid watching him. The sorcerer speaks in his low, slow voice. “You have a question. This is the answer.”

“I don’t understand.” Sora struggles an instant before simply letting his thoughts burst out. “Why am I here? Why do I matter, if I’m not a Keyblade Master?”

“Sora. What keeps a world from drifting into darkness?”

Sora ponders, then understands in a sudden flash of insight. “A sun.”

Yen Sid nods approvingly. “All worlds must orbit a sun. People are no different.”

Sora shudders with responsibility.

I realize it's probably not really in line with the intent of the prompt, but it wouldn't leave me alone once I thought of it.

I love the complexity of the dynamics in KH. <3
