She couldn't swim, and any claims that she could were obvious lies. He could tell by the way she stared at the water in underground, terrified as it pooled around her ankles and threatened mutely to drag her in, slam her against the stone of the bottom and never let her up again.
He was surprised that she trusted him so easily, but who wouldn't trust him? He was safety, security, and she found peace in the way that his hand supported the small of her back and she, dripping from head to toe with water, splayed her limbs to the side and let herself float, feeling herself falling but not giving a single damn about it.
