[MOD] kh_drabble Secret Santa

Hi. First and foremost, thank you so much for participating in kh_drabble for so long. Now, since December and Christmas is coming, the mods have decided to launch a kh_drabble Secret Santa!

To participate, you have to meet just ONE requirement: You have to be an ACTIVE member of the community. Meaning, you have to WRITE some drabbles and give evidence that you have written at least THREE (3) in the course of kh_drabble's life.

"But how do I know how many drabbles I've written? You can't tell me to go and poke around in the calendar, right? I'd die of boredom!"

That's what the ARCHIVES are for. 8D Every drabble written has been memoried, and we can check as well. So if you meet the sole requirement of this SS, go ahead and put your name in! (This includes both challenges and misc. drabbles.)

"So, how does the Secret Santa work?" Very simply!

In this post, all comments are screened. What we want you to do is to submit your name, your WORKING email address (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT) and your preferences for a drabble. Remember, this is KH DRABBLE, not a lengthy comm, so the gifts would naturally be of a drabble-length. It's up to the writer to extend the gift if they so wish though.

Your preferences should include character, pairing and themes/genres, and any additional notes that you want to add to your comment for your gifter, such as a liking for slash/het/bestiality/whatever. This is to ensure that your gift-writer knows what kind of fanfics you like to read.

NOTE: As we cannot hope to pair everyone up with their ideal writer and invariably there will be instances of "I can't write this fic because I don't write comedy/romance/het/slash/etc/etc", the preferences are there so that your gift-writer can try their best to fulfill ONE of the criteria based on your preferences. We're not perfect. We can't tell who writes for what genre most successfully.

The Request list will be CLOSED on Dec 3RD, 12 MIDNIGHT PST.

We'll send you your giftee's request via EMAIL (this is why it is IMPORTANT) so PLEASE check your email on Dec. 4th for that very important challenge. If you did not receive the email, please don't be shy and email one of us (our contact info is in the Info Page) to tell us that you haven't received your request.

YOU CANNOT CHOOSE YOUR GIFT-WRITER. That's the fun of having a Secret Santa, is it not?

The Secret Santa will run from Dec 5th 2005 to Dec 25th 2005. Send your gifts to one of the mods via EMAIL (either moontear or wrong, you can again, find our contacts on the Info Page) so that we can consolidate all the drabbles into one HUGE post and post it on Christmas Day itself.

This also means: If you didn't write your gift-fic, YOU WILL NOT BE GETTING YOUR PRESENT. It's only fair. So please, please participate? It'll be fun and it's all goodwill, and you'll make someone really happy as well.

And there's really no excuse. If you guys can churn out a drabble a week...8DDDD?

Normal weekly challenges will continue to run throughout this month-long challenge.

Everyone writes for each other. It goes like this, 1 writes for 2, 2 writes for 3, and 3 writes for 1. Full circle.

Will the writing assignments get rearranged or altered in any way if (the gods forfend) someone can't write an assigned gift and throws the assigning off a bit?

Or do we just soldier along and do what we can?

That is why I included Character, Pairing and Theme. So the writer has a variety to choose from for what s/he wants to write, just in case s/he runs into a block. Of course, it is ideal if the writer fulfils all the criteria that the giftee has requested.

Hopefully, there will not be a reshuffle of writers. Everyone who chooses to participate should be mindful of how busy/free they are and are well aware that if they do not write the gift, they would not get their own present. That's all.

It says you have to have written three drabbles, but I only have two (counting my most recent) because I just joined a while ago. >_>; *feels stupid* Thanks.
