Title: Hunger
Word Count: 185
Notes: Quickly written from the POV of a random Heartless
It was always hungry.
Nothing could sustain it for long - what was quickly consumed soon faded, replaced once again by the ravenous appetite for more. An endless hunger never sated. A gnawing pit in a stomach that craved warmth and light, things that it could never have.
A flurry of shadows pursuing prey. Screams accompanied at the end of the hunt as the quarry is brought down. Deathly silence as the heart is consumed, the body fading into oblivion. The yearning for the warmth of a heart is lessened for a brief while.
Whenever it feasted on a heart something flickered within itself. Images, sensations, emotions... brief and intangible when it tried to reach out to grab them. What were they? Were they a part of the darkness or of itself? Both or none? Such thinking frustrated it; wanting to experience the same thing again, and once more craving the satisfaction that only a heart could bring, it slithered off into the darkness to hunt again.
Warmth, memories, emotions - it was hungry for all of those. Eternally hungry.
