Title: Trinity Limit
Wordcount: 421
Rating: G
Notes: A Sora, Donald, and Goofy drabble.
For Sora, sometimes it’s best just being with the guys.
(If you can get away with calling them something so mundane).
Okay.
So sometimes it is best just being with Goofy and Donald, and Sora forgets when he first started thinking of them as friends (really friends)—just that one day he was asking Tarzan for help looking for his friends, and he found that he had started describing a short loud one and a tall one with a shield, instead of a guy with silver hair and a girl in a purple skirt—
Strangely.
Sora forgets when he first started thinking of Donald and Goofy as buddies that he can count on to save his life and walk with him on the path to Kingdom Hearts. It used to be that all he thought about was finding Riku and Kairi and getting back home—but now his heart is growing bigger, every minute and with every new world he’s seen—and there’s room now, for ducks and dogs that sometimes kind of act silly but he likes them anyway. Donald smacks him on the head when he thinks Sora’s being stupid, pulls on his ear like he’s a little kid (which Sora insists that he’s not). Donald is like a cantankerous uncle with a temper and a speech impediment—which makes it harder for anyone to take him seriously when he explodes. Goofy messes up his words sometimes, has a goofy kind of laugh, but his heart’s in the right place. Donald doesn’t think much of Goofy’s intelligence, but sometimes the dog gets these hunches and ever afterwards Sora is always sure that Goofy had been right. Regardless, Donald never listens—but maybe that’s what makes their lives so interesting.
So they’re close now, in a way that’s weird and different and all their own and Sora likes every minute of it, fighting with Donald over dessert, helping Goofy as they sort out their inventory, and then all three of them bent over the map as they chart out their next course.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy. That’s a group that totally sparks different from Sora, Riku, and Kairi, or Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie or any other trio…But if anyone had said that the three of them had any less of a friendship, Sora would had told that they were wrong. They had proved themselves to be an unstoppable team, over and over again. So what if he’s traveling with a Duck and a Dog.
He likes his friends different anyway.
