Title: Little Blue Dress
Word Count: 299
Notes: Inspired by a certain part from a certain game. I...really have nothing to say for myself.
Aerith dusted off the plastic coverings and surveyed her options. The silk dress had detailed beading on the bodice and was the loveliest shade of blue, but the satin one was a vivid red and felt smooth beneath her fingertips. After a second, she decided, “I like this one best,” holding up the blue silk one.
“I don’t like it.”
Attempting to hide her smile, she asked, “You like the other one?”
“…No.”
Aerith turned around as the dress slipped over upturned hands, wrists, outstretched arms, shoulders, and hips.
After it was on, she twirled around, unable to hide her smile now. “I can’t believe it fits so well.”
“…”
Aerith reached for the bag by her feet and pulled out the necessary supplies. After brushing soft yet stubborn hair, she smoothed on copious amounts of hairgel. Then she carefully applied the mascara, eyeshadow, and lipstick.
She led Cloud by his wrist to the door and peeked out. Leon and Yuffie, waiting at the bottom of the stairs outside, looked up at the creaking of the door.
“May I present to you…” Aerith pushed Cloud in front of her with a flourish. “…Miss Cloud!”
Yuffie immediately erupted into peals of laughter, and the about-to-make-a-snarky-remark expression melted from Leon’s face, replaced by one of astonishment.
Cloud indignantly trudged down the stairs, glaring as he grew pinker.
“Bet you’re never gonna lose a bet with Leon again, huh?” Yuffie asked, holding her stomach as she struggled to breathe.
Leon, having regained his composure (or so it seemed), opened his mouth to say something –
“Shut up,” Cloud huffed, stomping past them, ridiculously lopsided and fumbling in heels.
From the top of the stairs, Aerith watched proudly, confident that she had made the right choices, even if Cloud seemed to make terrible ones.

I like the way his choice is to not choose either dress and so Aerith chooses for him. It amuses me that Aerith is so proud of her work and somehow seems to miss the fact that Cloud is so disgusted with the whole process she is putting him through. I like how she is so careful with her handiwork.
I am also highly amused that Leon doesn't feel like insulting Cloud anymore he's so astonished about how he looks. Cloud telling them to "shut up" before Leon can get a word in is pretty funny too. I like the way you have these characters interact.
