Challenge: [56]Missing You
Title: Missing you
Characters:Two OC's, talk about Riku, mention of Sora
Rating: worksafe
Word Count: 246
Summary: Someone is not handling Riku's absence well. Contains no spoilers.
"So, how are things, Anmari?"
She sighed, folding her hands in her lap. "I was fine until yesterday." At the confused look from her doctor she went on, "Yesterday was Riku's birthday." She started to fidget with some loose threads on her pants. "How could he not ...I mean, how could he miss his own birthday? I made a cake for him hoping he'd stroll in the door and give me some excuse like 'Sora challenged me to one more duel and I couldn't let him win'."
She sighed again, tossing the frayed threads back. "But he didn't. I still wonder why he left and where he went. Or why... why he didn't say goodbye."
She took a deep shaky breath. "I wasn't the best mother, but I tried to teach him some manners. But he's always been such an independent child. Whenever my friends would complain about the troubles trying to toilet train their children, I kept quiet cause Riku had already mastered it.
"He could dress himself at an age when most children couldn't and could already brush his teeth without help at age three. But I couldn't brag to any of my friends."
Her voice cracked and she coughed, bringing her hand up to her mouth to hide it. "But I never thought he'd do this. He's just gone... one day here, the next gone. I don't know where he went or when he'll come home."
"I just want him to come home."
