Notes: Could be from either Maleficent's or Ansem's POV; up to the reader. I meant it as Maleficent, but upon re-reading it, saw the possibility for Ansem as well. This is a lot of firsts for me – first post here, first Kingdom Hearts piece, first drabble... hope you enjoy.

[MOD] Reclarification of some rules

Before I forget, which I am very inclined to do. ^__^

I suppose it is my fault that I did not make this clearer in the comm rules, and so apologise to moontear profusely. ^__^;;; Someone in the community had put up a query considering the inclusion of Final Fantasy characters in drabbles that are posted here. Let me make it very clear that we do not allow drabbles that include FF characters that do not appear in Kingdom Hearts.

The reasoning is that while there are many, many Final Fantasy writing communities (at the end of the post I will put up some drabble comms for an example, this is really not a promotional post. >.>) out there on LJ Land, but only a handful of Kingdom Hearts writing communities. Here at kh_drabble, we prefer to focus on stories featuring characters that only specifically appear in KH, and not externally. While you can argue that, say, Leon (Squall) of KH has past connections with Rinoa of FFVIII due to the wings on his jacket, if Rinoa does not appear in KH, the theory does not stand. Furthermore, we know that Square has apparently tweaked the timelines of past FF stories to fit the KH line, so FF canon-lines should not be able to hold in KH (for example, ( minor KHII spoiler )

), unless you can explain the age differences in the drabble.

You can, however, make references to external FF characters but leave out the names in order to render them recognisable as an FF character, and it also gives them an anonymity in the game. Such drabbles are accepted in kh_drabble. I'd provide examples, but I don't think anyone would go through them.

Rule of the thumb: If you think you can crosspost your drabble to another non-KH-related, FF-related writing community, it is not accepted here. There are many other boundaries to explore in the realm of KH, even the character interactions between the FF-borrowed characters are more than enough to explore.

Some FF writing communities that you might be interested in checking out are ffdrabble, ff_drabble, and ff_scribbles.

Secondly, talking about word counts: I know that the userinfo doesn't specify the limit, but please try to keep your works as short as possible, because this is a drabble community, after all.

Thirdly, due to the fact that the both of us (wrong and moontear) are getting very busy, we're appointing musiq_mistress as a co-mod (she makes the banners for the winners) to manage polls and do the memories when we fall behind in our work. Please treat her nicely as well!
