Title: Kiss
Word Count: 250
Spoilers: Sort of. It's AkuRoku. Post CoM, pre-KHII. Don't click unless you have played through the prologue already and know what a Nobody is.
Notes: ... It's AkuRoku. It was also written at 3 in the morning, which might explain everything.
(This has been edited to get rid of opinion and personal blather, which don't belong here.)
____________
Axel grabs Roxas by the chin. (An action more like a twitch.) Axel grabs Roxas's mouth with his own. (A twitch, an impulse, a leap of faith.) Roxas doesn't move, doesn't dare, doesn't want to.
The kiss only lasts an instant. But already, that instant is breaking down into lifetimes. At first it is insistent, and needy, and scared. The transformation, when it comes, is as swift as it is surprising; suddenly there is gentleness there, and a depth of love Roxas cannot possibly understand. It is soft fire melting before his frozen, confused emotion, a breakdown he could not ever predict.
It is something he wishes would not end.
Then Axel is gone.
The next day they do not speak of it, act as if nothing has happened. Nothing has happened, after all. They are simply friends. The best of friends. They are fake, and so are their smiles and all their pretend feelings. It's all fake. And so it can never have happened, because it was never real in the first place.
Then that day comes, the day that Roxas leaves.
Axel would care.
Roxas knows this. It's not as if he doesn't understand. He knows better than anyone in the world.
And it's not as if Roxas doesn't care.
They do not speak of it. Never have, never will.
For Nobodies are not supposed to care.
Nobodies are not supposed to love.
Nobodies are not supposed to feel anything at all.
None of it is real.
Right?

Date: 2006-04-15 04:58 pm (UTC)Wow, that's like .. the nicest compliment I've ever gotten about my writing. Sometimes people say my writing, oh, it's nice, but never does anyone say they like the style.. that's neat. Thank you!
