Challenge: [064] Yin and Yang
Title: Shattered
Word Count: 204
Characters: Roxas
Summary: The Keyblade bearer shatters peace and brings ruin.
Notes: Mild KH2 spoilers. The theme for the challenge is based around the opposing sides of the Keyblade.
Roxas watched the forest burn.
He hadn't set the fire, but he made no effort to stop it. It wouldn't matter, anyway, when this would be a dead world soon enough. The Heartless were here, and they wouldn't be leaving, not without feasting. A few lucky ones might escape, but not a whole world. The uneasy peace the two peoples he'd seen of this world had made was shattered for good.
Already he'd seen a few people who might manage a Nobody. A young woman, barely more than a girl, dressed plainly in light leather, and the man she called father, garbed as befitted the chieftain of the village he ruled over. Maybe a man or two in the small, barricaded town by the sea. They might be strong enough to survive and come to help the Organization with its goal.
But he didn't need to be here anymore; he'd done what he'd been ordered, and now that the Heartless were here, they would take care of the rest. He could go, and take his Keyblades, which he was told were supposed to bring peace, with him, leaving behind the chaos of a world almost destroyed.
He left by portal, and didn't look back.
