kh_drabbleTitle: Watchers
Word count: 252
Spoilers: Some foreshadowing for CoM and KH2. Obvious spoilers for KH1.
Notes: KH1- during Hollow Bastion. The Superior watches, and capitalizes on what his Other doesn't know.
I find the guy rather interesting. ^^ Hope you enjoy!
Yet more proof that he is more than his heart- that he need not reunite with it to become whole.
He knows firsthand that Nobodies exist. He is the first to know- the first to be, and thus, he is more than Ansem. He knows more, than Ansem.
Both of them.
He watches, and with his fellows and the addition of more into their Order, he consolidates his power. They watch, they research, they plan- but from the beginning they have been a force to reckon with- something to fear.
He is there in Hollow Bastion that night. He watches as his Other takes the potential Keyblade bearer for his host- stealing the boy's power for himself.
He watches as his Other is beaten down by the true bearer.
The Keyblade bearer cannot be turned from his chosen path.
He watches as the boy takes the murderously sharp key in hand- and unlocks himself.
Two hearts fly free. One goes home to the Princess. The other is lost in darkness for several minutes.
Minutes are more than enough. Seconds are more than enough. In the darkness, time makes no difference.
The Princess calls him back.
It makes no difference.
Their hearts were free- expelled. They had No Bodies.
He smiled, and the next day, he sent his followers out to search.
They would seek, they would find, and he would triumph.
He would be whole.
A Keyblade bearer would aid his ideals.
The Keyblade bearer cannot be turned from his chosen path.

Yes, yes indeed -- they need a Key, and he no longer has his own ..
as I've said, I have some interesting notions about the nightmaster. his heart kept his Key, alas .. ;D

Oh, but of course; makes one wonder how much time actually elapses during the stints in Hollow Bastion, that Xemnas can state "You look just like him" ..
They're looking with more than eyes? :D
Which brings up another drabble-worthy point-
Namine and Roxas get visibly older. I've seen several drabbles stating that none of the other Nobodies do.
*smiles* I have theories as to why- make an interesting bit of fic or two, wouldn't they?

Yes, and I'm one of those authors ... comparing Xehanort/Xemnas would seem to bear out the observation, when combined with noting that if you stripped as many years as necessary off of Zexion, he'd be more likely to be playing with a Construx toyset that working in a lab XD
I have to admit, though, I personally don't think that Namine or Roxas look like they aged, either ...

It could, yes, if you run with the notion that they did age. Granted, with Namine at I would argue that all bets are off in any case, because she's so 'special' in nature ...

Alas, no.
Namine I quite loathed after CoM (especially on account of Riku II, really), and KH2 has done nothing to improve her standing in my eyes ... that isn't counting how her sheer existence seems forced, to me. (And too many people seem to forget she's likely as emotionless as any Nobody.)
Roxas just sort of annoyed me in an "I don't like the look of you, you rub me the wrong way" sort of deal. So I started up KH2 and figured actual play would change my mind. But now I just can't stand the little blighter *grins*
Most of the time I don't admit to disliking these two, because it seems to get me in trouble ... ^_^;

See, with these I see a smidge of difference, but not enough to say that she's necessarily aged. But I can see how someone could interpret it that way, yes.

But Namine is not, strictly, Kairi's Nobody. Kairi herself never had a Nobody; we see her physical body just fine in the first KH ;D
Namine is a bizarre concatenation of Kairi and Sora's hearts somehow spawning a bizarro!Nobody. (This is one of the things that irks me just a bit; I'd be howling at the moon if Namine were a fan-created character, I suspect ..)

I can see that working for Roxas *nods* Namine's just too damn odd; then again, you could argue that Sora and Kairi in tandem works just as well for her as Sora alone does for Roxas.
