Title: Leaving home
Word Count: 220
At first he didn’t know what to do.The child in him wanted to stay close by, to never leave the island. He reasoned that he’d miss it, he couldn’t leave his parents by themselves, and that he’d be uncomfortable in a larger place.
Yet he couldn’t ignore his slightly post adolescent side. He felt as though it was time to stretch his wings and move on. He remembered Riku always feeling like this and figured that somehow the feeling was transferred to him when Riku decided he wouldn’t leave.
In a sense, he was the new Riku. He spent his time thinking alone on the paopu tree with only the sea to comfort him. Kairi and Riku took turns sitting by his side in silence, waiting patiently until a decision was made or until Sora felt the need to talk; they didn’t want to push or influence him in anyway.
He mentioned a few times that he was scared, but other than that his mind was set. Even if he only made it a few weeks away from the island, he would leave. It was necessary in order to become Sora and not just Sorarikukairi.
For the first time in a while, he wanted an identity of his own, and he decided school was the only way to achieve one.
