So I called
osmandias out for a little drabble writing here and in the end, we were sitting there with twenty one bits about Xigbar.
Here you can find the three she chose to display.
Here are the ones of which I am most fond. ;p
Title: Xigbar Trio
Word count: 106, 111, 57
Spoilers: Backstory for KH
Notes: The one that started it all, followed by the results of Osmandias' prompts 'Panic in Mauve', and 'Lives in Me'
Rating PG-13 for language.
Sometimes Xigbar could remember the moment before 'existence'.
Darkness, once welcoming, choked him, invading his eyes, lungs but not throat, heart but not skin- dragging him down.
Even as Braig embraced it, he had fought- pushing, grasping for light with instinct and panic and the obsessive will to survive. Hands scrabbling, tearing at flesh and bone as he sought escape. He gasped although he had air- eyes bulging despite his blindness. Instinct. Pure animal instinct that demanded he fight- that he not simply lay down and die.
All the while, he could feel Xehanort's hands. One at his neck.
One in his chest.
Holding him down.
It wasn't out of sympathy (which they no longer possessed- those who'd had the capacity before) that Xaldin walked over to an idle Xigbar.
Faced with nothing to do, and no missions to go on, a Nobody was, for the most part, left with contemplation of their own pain, which, most days, wasn't worth thinking about.
Besides, Xigbar had done the same for him in the past.
"I picked up a curious saying on the last world."
A grunt let him know the gunner was listening.
"Do you think you could 'shoot the petals off a daisy'?"
He smiled slowly. "I think I'll head down to Marluxia's garden and find out."
It was touching- warm-fuzzy inducing and that kind of shit.
Xigbar's tail flicked from side to side idly as he waited for Simba to get over his metaphysical experience and make a decision.
Then he had a thought. No sadness or wistful feeling- it was just the truth;
You got better than what lives in me, kid.
