title: Of Wings and Kings
word count: 453 *squirms at length*
He was tired, he was tired of searching and tired of running and just tired. Of course he would never admit this outloud. Because then ontop of everything else he would seem weak and selfish.
And while that was not truly the case, he just didn't know where else to look anymore.
Sora had decided on a break, it was self appointed, but even the other two looked like they could use a rest too.
They were on some great stone platform, or what once was a city. It was probably the latter judging by that stone pillar that rested a good bit away from them. It looked like it had once been an impressive statue with a carved angel. Since then (whenever then was) it had fallen apart so that only the wings were still attached. The base was severely vandalized with dates and phrases and even a small scratched in crown.
This is what Sora watched as his eyes drifted closed.
"Wake up you lazy bum!" giggled an all too familiar voice.
the brunette opened his eyes slowly, almost not trusting himself.
A pair of bright cobalt blue stared back at him, a pretty smile painted on those familiar lips.
"Whoa!" Sora cried, sitting up quickly. "Kairi?" he asked, not trusting his eyes.
She wrinkled her nose at him. "Who else would it be?" And there was that melodious laughter again.
He didn't know what to do, what to think, how had she gotten here? Shouldn't se be on Destiny Islands?
"Hey, you two didn't forget about me now did you?" That painfully deep voice with that slight edge to it.
Sora turned to behold Riku, one hand resting cockily on his hips and a smile playing at his lips.
This was all too good to be true. His voice stuck in his throat and he was almost afraid he would cry.
"I'll race you!" cried Kairi, pointing towards the not-so-there statue.
Riku moaned, "You gotta be kidding me."
But with an enthusiastic "GO!" from Kairi all of them took off together.
Riku was the first to reach, quickly scaling up the base to rest against the wings.
Sora and Kairi collapsed in a laughing fit at the ground. It had been too long, far too long.
"Sora!" called Donald as he and Goofy ran to meet them.
The duck sat on the stone pillar next to Kairi and Goofy took a seat next to Sora, staring curiously at Riku (because it almost looked like he belonged there.).
Night was setting quickly, and a sudden fatigue took over. They all stared lazily at the dying sun, Kairi resting against Sora.
The boy could only wonder how long this moment would last....
Know it now? anyone care to help me out? xDD
